Paris Claude-Bernard - La foret linéaire

Paris Nord Est (75)

Leaning against the beltway, office buildings expand along this urban route and provide a phonic screen. At the heart of the sector, businesses occupy the ground floors. Apartments, protected from nuisance, are spread out according to a series of blocks on Macdonald Boulevard. They benefit from an open view and southern orientation.

On both sides of the Claude Bernard parcel, public service buildings find their places: a comprehensive school on the edge of the canal Saint-Denis and leisure park connected to a square and a footbridge to the west.

The ground and first floors of the residential buildings are reserved for businesses.

The greater diversity on the boulevard will contribute to its vitality and the creation of new business continuity between the future leisure park and the canal Saint-Denis.

The buildings located on Quai de Charentes are intended to be housing along with a day-care centre, which will be included in the construction.

The linear forest

To improve the Paris périphérique ring road’s presence in the urban landscape, a tree-lined section known as the “Linear Forest” has been built on the previously undeveloped land on either side of the motorway. In the Paris North-East area as a whole, the Linear Forest covers 24 hectares, 4 of which are to be found within the Claude Bernard Joint Development Zone.

The Forest is equipped with a run-off which channels rain water collected in the neighbouring plots, and a cycle path between Aubervilliers Bridge and the Saint-Denis Canal. It marks the border between an inaccessible area which remains undeveloped and a landscaped section open to pedestrians.
