Metropolitan strategy, ongoing

The International Workshop of the Greater Paris area gathers 15 multi-disciplinary teams acting as the Greater Paris Scientific Advisory Board and undertaking specific studies.

The first study focused on the Far Greater Paris and the associated issues in terms of transportation.

This second act of the research on the Greater Paris area, launched by the first consultation in 2008, led the Agency to conduct successively two studies on the themes of «Living in the Greater Paris area» and «Metropolitan Systems».

The first study was the opportunity to go further into the question of governance and to bring about the proposal of The Greater Paris Free University.

Ten short films were also produce for the exhibition of July 2013 at the 104 (Artistic Space in Paris).

To the question of «where», we affirm that the Greater Paris area can have homes about any and everywhere provided they are built coherently. Therefore, the transformation of utility networks appears to be indispensable as a complement to the creation of the new networks of the Greater Paris area. This takes us to the next question : «And in the meanwhile?»

The expression «Greater Paris» is now part of daily conversations, as it became progressively adopted by a large number of actors. Nevertheless, the question of the implementation is still unanswered. To go beyond the mundane gaps between the different organizations, public and private, we offer to pool energies and initiatives for the benefit of the Greater Paris project.
